A Mariposa Birthday

I've had the absolute best birthday in living memory. I spent it in Mariposa, California, a town just outside Yosemite National Park.

I fell for it immediately. A six and a half hour drive from home and many bathroom breaks later, we arrived at our home for the weekend, with the sunlight still streaming in, no less!

We drank in the views and couldn't believe our luck.

The house was gorgeous, the furniture rustic and the views outstanding.

Since we arrived as the sun was going down, and headed to bed early, we were awake equally early and ready for our morning beverage as we admired the view.

Coffee, wine..whatever. Both make the day start off quite well.

With a cabin so cozy, it was hard to tear ourselves away. Besides a short breakfast trip to town, we spent most of our time enjoying our good fortune.

In town we found this inn that makes me want to move in immediately. And poppies galore!

At the Chocolate Soup we met the most debonair of cats.

And were envious of their decorating skills.

On the way home I HAD to stop by Marisposas' coffee roastery!

The aroma of roasting coffee completely made my day. Such a perfect place for coffee addicts. I left with the Southern Pecan and 49er beans...and now I wish I had more hours in the day to brew them.

What to do after a hard day of exploring? Pop in the Jacuzzi with a bottle of wine of course!

I have to say, 27 is off to quite the start!

What'd you do to celebrate 27? And have you ever been to Yosemite? I'm new to it and would love to hear where you've been!

xoxo,

Krystal
